I'm leaving college tomorrow. I'm feeling kind of silly about it. There are realities like paying for insurance and things, but I know my parents will provide. They are too generous. I need to work hard. I'm very excited about realizing some plans for my personal work as an artist and musician. My collaborative work with El Toro is coming along really well, but I'm excited for a break from the chaotic routine of this past semester. Home, peace, family...

I will miss people here at school and I hope it's in my heart and mind to visit this place again in the fall. There is Chris, my roommate, Wade, our manager, Chris, Chet and Tyler, who are my neighbors, the Mamicita's: Xiomara, Meredith, Sarah, and the other cast of characters that make up the happy part of everything. I don't think I wrote much about school here because I wasn't sure what to think about it all. I learned a lot.

I'm happy today, the world is too generous

There is this girl. Her hands remind me of a lot of dark things that live inside girls. I can't stand looking at her hands, but then she smiles and there's a lot of hope in that smile. It's confusing and I don't know how to feel about what some people go through. With all my heart I hope she finds peace.

My buddy asked me if I had anything I wanted him to pray for. I told him for our children and for the global night commute. I asked if he had anything he wanted me to pray for. He said for Jesus to mold him into the person that he wants him to be and that everyone might know his love.

I don't have a conclusion except that I am thankful.

I had one of the best weeks of my life this past week.

This is the best February I have ever had. Two friends of mine, Alicia and Max, came to visit me in the dorms today. They brought with them a suprise jello creation! After hugs, the smiling couple revealed to me a plate with blue jello letters spelling out, "happy b-day shiraki." I didn't have a cake this year or a real celebration on account of the foot of snow mother nature thought appropriate to give me instead. However, I did get to celebrate the next night with Wade and Chris at our usual Monday-night-applebees-half-priced-appetizer-night-with-our-host-Black-who-is-a-black-man-named-black-i'm-not-joking-night. And tonight I got to blow out a candle thanks to old friends. I will show you pictures, it was awesome!!! I am so thankful for great friends, family, and sunshine. I wake up every morning and it is good.
